PEACE RIVER hospital and medical centre routinely punches above its weight. The hospital serves a much larger regional area than the town itself, so is always busy. The downside is that there is a huge need for more family docs (who usually also bring some extra skill that is used by the hospital) - but hey.. that’s the upside for anyone looking to relocate here :)
The team of practitioners are award winning, highly skilled, and will be found beside you at a community event as they are part of us. The hospital brings in student practitioners and has mentored many healthcare workers that can be found across Canada (no exaggeration). There is also a dedicated Mental Health Clinic, long term care facility and other allied health providers in town. As well as a busy EMS and air ambulance service. We really have it all 😊

GRIMSHAW is a neighbouring community a short 20 min drive from Peace River. A smaller, yet busy ER, as well as continuing care can be found here. There is a lot of crossover between the towns with people living and working in both. Grimshaw is small town living at it’s best, and has lots to offer (the local bakery and butcher shop are top level!). If Grimshaw is your choice, you will be working with the likes of the award winners found on the video below. They are a great team and we would be glad if you joined them as they are our neighbours and friends.

GRANDE PRAIRIE is 2 hours drive from Peace River and the largest city in the Peace Country. A new major hospital with ER, Surgical services, Obstetrics, Mental Health and Cancer Centre as well as specialist allied health providers offers a greater range of specialist healthcare opportunities. And while we would prefer you made Peace River home, we would be just as glad if you chose Grande Prairie, as our community uses the services there as well.
